I Wanted My Cameras Out of the Way, Not Out of Sight
Being a mom of two, vlogging on the side, and trying to keep up with YouTube means I have a lot going on.
Somewhere between the children, work, the house, and making videos, I've also accumulated quite a few cameras.
I'm not complaining. I love creating content.
But the maintaining-my-equipment part? That's a different conversation entirely.
Each camera is an investment, and because I actually use them for my YouTube work, they can't just be left lying around. I wanted somewhere safe and organised for them, without making my room look like a camera store.
That was how I found myself asking:
Where would my cameras actually live?
Not Just Any Shelf Would Do
I started searching for interior stores in Port Harcourt.
Not for furniture in general. Specifically for wall shelves.
I wanted something that could hold my cameras properly and still look good in the room.
I was at my friend's place, gisting as usual, when I pulled out my phone and started looking.
A few stores came up.
I didn't really like what I saw.
Then I remembered Yuli Interior.

This time, I was looking for a wall shelf.

The rep told me I'd have it the next day.
That was fast, I thought.
But I wasn't complaining. I was just happy I'd finally found somewhere for my cameras to live.
The Wood Alone Told Me Something
The next day, my order arrived.
I loved the quality of the wood immediately. It felt solid and well finished. Nothing about it felt rushed or cheap.
I went with the smaller size because I wanted it beside my bed rather than across an entire wall. There's a bigger one if you need more space.
I arranged my room, installed the shelf, and started placing my cameras on it one at a time.
And honestly?
I smiled the whole time.
It was just nice seeing all my equipment in one place instead of having cameras and accessories scattered around whenever I wasn't filming.
What Happened When I Posted It
Of course, I took a picture immediately and posted it.
My people came through in the comments almost instantly.
“Girl, this your room sharp oo.”
“Amara, see as your cameras fine oo. I love the setup. Where did you buy this?”
I told them I got it online and mentioned the brand.
A few asked for the link outright.
But what surprised me wasn't really the compliments.
It was how much calmer my room felt.
My cameras were finally organised, visible, and safely out of the way.
And because I actually use them for my YouTube work, that mattered to me.
What I'd Tell Anyone Setting Up a Space for Their Gear
If you're a creative with equipment you actually care about, here's what I'd say:
- Don't settle for shelves built for books when what you own needs proper display and protection.
- Handcrafted wood décor can be a beautiful alternative to the flat-pack options you see everywhere.
- Measure your wall before you order, so you know exactly how much space you're working with.
- A smaller piece can do the job just as well if you're working with a tight corner.
I wasn't looking for anything fancy.
I just wanted somewhere for my cameras to live without adding more clutter to a home that already has two children in it.
Turns out that's exactly what a good handcrafted shelf can do.
Not just storage.
A whole setup, sorted.
